A Dialysis Technician helps patients have positive outcomes from dialysis treatments and remain safe and comfortable throughout dialysis sessions. The job description of a Dialysis Technician generally includes the following duties:
- Describing the kidney dialysis process to patients and answering their questions before sessions
- Setting up, operating and maintaining kidney dialysis machines
- Preparing patients for dialysis and administering local anesthesia to reduce discomfort
- Monitoring patients throughout the dialysis process and attending to any needs
- Responding to medical emergencies
- Updating and collaborating patient condition with nurses, physicians and other care team members
- Recording dialysis treatment information in patient medical records
- Adhering to policies and regulations related to infection control and patient safety and privacy
Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
